Remembering
Eleanor still brings tears to my eyes, but at the same time
smile on my face. Everytime there is a Buklod meeting, I
can't help but think that Eleanor and Clint would have been
such a happy addition to the Buklod Organization. Our Holy
Supper just passed and I found myself remembering her and
thinking how lucky that she has finished her journey knowing
she remained true to her membership.
Her birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks....I remember
how she made such a big deal about her birthday. She made
sure that everyone is in on the celebration. I miss her
infectious smile. I miss her corny jokes. I miss her.....I
still miss you, BB! |

The new year
came, and I looked back on 2005. I re-lived the agony,
sadness, empitness I felt upon hearing of my cousin's
untimely passing. I still think of her often; sometimes I do
it unconsciously. I've had many dreams of Eleanor showing up
to one of our church activities. I continue to thank her for
leaving such a lasting impression on those who knew her. She
has taught me to cherish life and truly show those whom I
love how much they mean to me. Life is precious, as it has
been said numerous times. All it takes is a blink of an eye
for someone to leave us; I personally can't risk taking
anyone I love for granted--- in Eleanor's remembrance. |

Apostle Paul
said: If I live, it will be for Christ, and if I die, I will
gain even more. I don’t know what to choose. I could keep on
living and doing something useful. It is a hard choice to
make. I want to die and be with Christ, because that would
be much better. (Philippians 1:21-23 CEV) |

My deepest
condolences to Eleanors family and to Clint.
I worked with Eleanor her whole time at The City of Hope, it
was always a joy to see her eyes light up as she spoke very
lovingly of her parents and Clint. In the past year we would
go to lunch and talk often her joy at her upcoming wedding
and her love for Clint would always put a smile on my face.
I think of Eleanor as not gone but always smiling with her
eyes at us from above. |

I remember her smile
and exuberance. Eleanor always had a light about her that just
shined. It makes me wonder why God would save me and yet take
someone like her away so abruptly. I think we all have a path and
hers is with God up above. One thing is for sure, Eleanor will be
missed because of who she was and how she carried herself, but also
how she brought out the best in everyone that she knew. |

Please forgive me for
signing a second time. But after reading all of the thoughts from
members around the world, I've come to the realization that
Eleanor's final gift to us was a sense of unity and inspiration.
That even though many of us are many miles apart, we still share in
the spirit of Christ that binds us. We share the same pain, the same
joy, and receive the same consolation for the Holy Spirit. Eleanor's
parting gift to us all was, that in her rest, the spirit of unity is
made known.

My deepest regret is
that I wasn't able to spend a lot of time with Ate Eleanor. But
whenever I did, whether it was a trip down to CA, a visit from your
family in the PI, or a visit from the District Kadiwa officers in
Las Vegas, it was always like we've just seen each other yesterday.
She's always treated me like a little sister or cousin. I'm sad that
I never got to go snowboarding with her, Ate Emylene, Ate Lisa, and
Clint as she asked me too! I always kept thinking, "they're only 4
hours away" or "maybe next winter season." Definitely, Ate Eleanor
has taught us that life is too short to put off things that we can
do today. It's important that we always, always, let the people we
love how much they mean to us. More importantly, I've learned the
importance of re-assessing our priorities in life, that we have more
important tasks to accomplish than those that only deal with life
here on earth. May Ate Eleanor continue to inspire us to always be
prepared - to complete our work, finish the race, and endure until
the very end...
Tito Bob and Tita Ine, it's not only Ate Eleanor who's inspired us.
In spending only three days with you and your family at the memorial
chapel, I have been amazed with the strength of the
DelaMerced-Fermin clan - everyone, from the grandparents, to the
aunts and uncles, to the cousins, and the grandchildren. Rather than
questioning God's decision regarding Ate Eleanor's fate, I saw a
family who grew closer together, who supported and consoled each
other, and grew stronger in their faith. I saw a family who took
Clint as their own son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin. I saw
the head deacon, the deaconess, and the choir members who tirelessly
perform their duties despite their time of mourning. Lastly, I saw
not only brethren in the faith but also people from all walks of
life flock from all over the country (and accross the globe)to give
your family their condolences and sympathies.
My mother always told me, "God only gives you trials He knows you
can endure."
Tito Bob and Tita Ine, your family is to be commended. You have
demonstrated how true servants of God should withstand the tragedies
they face in life.
You are always in our prayers.
Love,
Jenny and Roel Estanilla |

We used to be
frightened and scared to try
Of things we don't really understand why
We laugh for a moment and start to cry
We were crazy
Now that the end is already here
We reminisce 'bout old yells and cheers
Even if our last hurrahs were never clear
Farewell to you my friends
We'll see each other again
Don't cry 'cause it's not the end of everything
I may be miles away
But here is where my heart will stay
With you, my friends with you
Yesterday's a treasure, today is here
Tomorrows' on its way, the sky is clear
Thank you for the mem'ries of all the laughters and tears
And not to mention our doubts and our fears
The hypertension we gave to our peers
It's really funny to look back after all of these years |

Dear Brother Bobby,
Sister Ene and Family,
Our Brotherhood in Christ is one of the key factors towards our
salvation, so, when I heard about Sister Eleanor's passing away I
felt sadness in my heart. It seems that my own sister left me and
had gone to a very far place where we will not be seeing her for a
while.
I remember Sister Eleanor during the sports activities of the
Church. She was so vibrant and energetic, so young and beautiful. I
can't forget her face. I am pretty sure Brother Clint, her fiance
will miss her a lot, but let us not worry for this is only but
temporary.
I know Sister Eleanor will live in the hearts of everyone who knew
and loved her.
My deepest sympathy for your loss. |

I haven't known
Eleanor for a long time, just a few short years while she was dating
Clint, my brother-in-law. But what I do know is how much she loved
him and he loved her. I've never seen two people more made for each
other than Clint and Eleanor. Each just as goofy as the other, with
a love so pure. Eleanor made Clint so happy, he smiled everytime he
talked about her. After these past few days, being with her family
and close friends, it's easy to see how many lives Eleanor has
changed. And although I didn't have the privilege of spending more
time with her, she continues to change my life. With her sudden
passing, she helped me realize that we can't waste time on things
we'll forget about tomorrow, that tomorrow is never promised and to
live for today. She's taught me to have a little more patience, to
be a little kinder, and to love a little more. And by doing that,
that's how I'll remember Eleanor. |

very contagious. She can turn a bad day into a good day. She made
badminton fun during badminton practices and it would not have been
the same without her. She will be missed very much.
My deepest condolences and prayers to her family. |

I only met Sis.
Eleanor on a few occasions. The one that stands out the most,
however, is when the District Kadiwa Officers visited us here and
taught us how to play Mafia. She was the facilitator with the big
smile on her face. When I'd see her at District events, that same
smile was always there. When Bro. Aldrin told me of her condition a
few weeks ago, I had a hard time remembering her face...but then I
remembered her smile and it all came back.
May she rest in peace, and may her entire family feel the endless
love and strength from our Father above. |

Eleanor was always one
of the warm and welcoming faces whenever I got the chance to visit
Southern California. She was my fellow "E girl" as I used to refer
to her. I luckily had the chance to spend a few moments with her
while she was on the East Coast just a few weeks ago. Her first
priority of course was making sure she could find a locale to attend
worship service. While catching up with her, she spoke lovingly of
Clint as she shared the story of their engagement, how she found her
perfect dress and her ensuing wedding plans. I feel fortunate to
have had the opportunity to have met someone like Eleanor. I admire
her for the devotion and enthusiasm she had in performing her
duties, the love she shared with her family and friends, and the
innate ability she had to touch the lives of all those who had the
good fortune of crossing her path. Sleep tight for now Eleanor ..
To the Fermin/Dela Merced Family, please accept my sincerest and
deepest condolences. Your daughter is indeed and inspiration to us
all as we strive to finish our course with such focus and
determination. May the love of our Father guide and comfort you in
the days to come, and may the happiness she brought to your lives
always warm your heart. |

We were deeply
saddened by the news that Eleanor is gone. Although she finished her
race faster than the others, she will be sorely missed.
We remember a young woman who was so energetic and exuberant. I also
used to call her "Barclay" because of her rebounding ability when
she is playing basketball for the San Gabriel Valley team. I
remember her assisting the district leadership during the games. She
was my student in the CWS Teacher's class and she showed that her
talent in teaching was inherited from her dad. We remember how she
was very happy to see us here in the Philippines when she went with
her parents to celebrate her lola's birthday.
However it may be painful to many of us to see her depart from this
life, we know for sure that we will see her again at the coming of
Christ. She is an epitome of a true Christian and Rev. 14:12-13 was
fulfilled in her.
To Bro. Bob and Sis. Ine, how we wish to be with you personally to
help alleviate your pain and suffering but distance does not allow
this to happen. You are always on our mind and prayers. May you find
solace and comfort in the hands of the Lord. |

It's been more than 12
years since Eleanor and I last saw each other. At the time, Pasadena
was still an extension of SGV.
And yet despite all the time that's past, when I heard she was given
rest, I realized an empty spot had formed in my life because she was
gone. And since she was laid to rest, I've heard of her
accomplishments and of her devotion. And I see the faith I had known
12 years ago had grown brighter.
Eleanor embodied all that it means to be a choir member, an
organist, and a member of the Church of Christ. Her's was a life of
devotion and for that, God fulfilled his covenant with her. And we
shall see her again soon. |

I didn't get the
pleasure of meeting your daughter. But I know, because of the Church
in which we are members of, we are all connected and united as one.
She has inspired us all to continue, and it is once again another
gift Eleanor has given us. She will always be remembered by
everyone, but this should all the more motivate us in our race. So
that one day, we'll see her once again with all our other brothers
and sisters who we dearly miss and love in that glorious Kingdom of
Heaven...

Every time I saw
Eleanor, she had a smile on her face. Now it wasn't just a polite
smile, or a "oh, how nice to see you" smile. It was always a "this
day couldn't possibly be any better" kind of smile. It was the kind
that you want to show to other people and say, "See, that's how that

I didn't have too many
opportunities to interact with Sis. Eleanor, but for the few times
that I did, I could immediately see what all the raves were about.
It wasn't only her infectious smile, or her glowing personality, but
you could tell, just by speaking to her for but five minutes, that
kind and generous heart that she offered to everyone. You ARE an
inspiration to us all, and you will surely be missed.

once, that was when we visited California and had a dinner with them
at Emeryck's place. All we could remember of her was her very
beautiful and meaningful smile. She was so cheerful. And she was so
proud to show us her engagement ring and announce that she's gettin
married. The only phrase that we could remember her telling was "this
is Clint,my fiance.we're gettin married".....and she raised her left
hand and proudly....really proudly showing off the ring. And we were
watching her and Clint eating together in one plate that
night...they were 2 lovebirds.
We're glad that we were able to meet her.Deepest Sympathy and

The last time I saw
Sis. Eleonor was when I officiated the Holy Supper worship service
of Victorville locale in 2003. She greeted me and shook my hand with
a smile just like what she did when I and my family visited and
prayed for Ka Mary's natal day at least for 3 times. Friendly and
sisterly smile is her trade mark. That's what she got from her
parents. Ka Bobby and Ka Ine should be proud for they succeeded in
raising her as a true christian and a true officer in the church.
Her remarkable qualities should inspire every one that like Sis.
Eleonor, every one will be able to finish the race.

the first and only
time i met eleanor was back in 1996.. around a week before
thanksgiving.. she was in town w/ her sisters and they were doing a
eastcoast tour.. being that they knew brian basi and that they were
the first people from out west that i met, i thought that they were
pretty cool.. we ate some cheesesteaks that weren't so good, but
those cali people liked it, go figure.. anyway, it was just a good
time w/ them. Eleanor and i would then lose contact for a few years
till about 2002. i forget how i got her email address, but i did and
decieded to email her. then talked every now and again. even tried
to talk her though gettin into her room when she locked herself out.
*i know what your thinking, how did you talk her though getting into
a locked room.. i dont know either..* anyway.. time passes and
things go on. we lose touch and no contact for a while.. always
meant to call and see how she was doing, but always put it off
saying i'll do it later.. i guess i can't anymore..
so my condolences to the family, frieds and all those who were
blessed to have her even for a moment in their lives. eleanor you
will be missed. maybe we'll have better cheesesteaks nexttime and
not lock you out of your room anymore.

I remember Eleanor way
back when we used to go down south and hang out with the girls in
Montclair. She was really down to earth and so easy to talk to. She
was very fun to be with and always had that great smile; but was
serious and determined when she had to get something done. I’ve only
known her for such a short time, but will always cherish the
memories I’ve shared with her and her friends.
To Emylene, Elisa, Ka Bob, Ka Ine, Clint, the girls and the entire

Our family is
speechless when it comes to describing Eleanor because she's exactly
what everyone had described. You don't have to be close to her to
love her. She brought love to all through her smile and
cheerfulness. She made people say "what problem?" and that's what we
really like about Eleanor.....a positive force....Thank you so much
for being a part of our lives and all the help you've done to our
family...in taking good care of Lauren when she needed a true friend
and "ate".
Ka Ine, Ka Bobby, Lisa, Emyline, Clint and all of the Fermin/DelaMerced

this trying times. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. |

Her voice still rings
in my ears so clear and her perkiness way so vivid in my thoughts.
We don't see each other much, but when we did, it's just a joy. She
has that hop in her step and big smile that shows you just how happy
she is to see you. "Hi ATE DEANNA!" followed by a big kiss on the
cheek.
Reading and reflecting on the kind of life she's lived; adored by so
many and best of all, strong and active in her duties in the Church.
What would be a better way to live a life and be laid to rest? This
is what all members pray for. If He should take us, may He take us
active in our duties and inside his Church. Eleanor is guaranteed
the promise of Eternal Salvation.
We extend our love and deepest condolences to Ninong Bob, Ninang Ine,
Emilynn, Lisa, and Clint.
We pray that He give you all strength in these trying times. And to
all that she's left behind, we pray that we all will remain
steadfast in our calling and that we will see you again, Eleanor, in
that "New Home".

Dear Bro. Bobby and Sister Ine,
Our daughter Emilette passed away when she was just 18. It happened
some eleven years ago. She was also a choir member since her CWS
days. When it happened, I simply told my wife that way ahead of us,
the Lord made her fully qualified for the FIRST RESURRECTION! I am
conveying to you the same!!
We are with you in spirit during the moment of your bereavement. |

It really saddens me
to hear about eleanor's passing. She was a great example to us all.
I remembered her a long time ago when we used to have district
activities. I was really scared of her when Oxnard played them in
basketball because she was really good and aggressive. She was also
one of the choir members that helped oxnard when we lacked choir
members for our thanksgiving worship service. But the one that I
really cherish was when she went to Oxnard to visit our kadiwa
officers. You see our kadiwa organization in Oxnard that time was
not developed but when she came there she inspired us all. She even
checked up on us if there was any progress. I remembered what she
said to us " I know it's not easy to balance being a kadiwa officer
with choir also with school and work but if you put him first you'll
see you'll have all the time in the world to do all." I also
remembered her saying "I'm an organist as well as choir member. It
came to the point where I was being tested to choose from being
kadiwa district officer or choir member but through God's grace I'm
still here fulfulling my duties." From then on those words of
inspiration abide in me and I also apply it to my life until now. I
know there will be a time where I will also be tested with my duties
but I will look back and remember everything she said and remember
her devotion to God.I've never met a person with genuine faith and I
also never met a person who embraces her duties as much as she did.
She never doubted Oxnard in building the kadiwa organization. She
remembered us all by names actually. Everytime she sees us in
district events there she was greeting each of us by name and with a
smile. She was there to help in any way she can. She showed us how
much she cares and how much she loves us all and wants all of us to
be save not by scolding us or preaching to us but she showed us
through her actions.
To the family, friends, and loved ones that she left behind may you
stay strong in the faith as she was in hers.We will pray for you
all. |

What can I say about
our sister that has not yet already been said? Except my memories of
her. I remember when we competed for the football throw, during one
of the mini-olympics for the church, and I thought, there you go,
she's the first place winner! Eleanor can really throw a football,
unlike a lot of guys that I know ;) Oh and I was right, she did win
first place :). Another memory with Eleanor was when Ryan and I
first stepped into the Montclair house of worship. I saw her and
Clint coming down from the choir loft. She greeted us with her
famous smile and Clint and her showed us around the chapel, from the
baptismal pool to all the secret rooms that many brethren probably
haven't seen yet... Those are just some of my memories of her which
will last me a lifetime! We miss her very much! Our condolences to

I cannot recall how
old I was when I first met my Tita Eleanor, I must've been too
young. However, all that i could remember of her was that bright,
warm smile she always had on.
When I heard of what happened I became immobilized for a moment. I
almost did not want to believe it was true. In fact for second there
I did. I kept hoping it was just a dream that I would soon awake.
Yet, upon arriving at her viewing reality hit me and I was soon to
face the fact that my beloved tita had passed. And to believe the
last time I saw her was not even a month ago (July 27, to be
exact)at the Montclair chapel.
We tend to remember her for her smile
And it is the tender moment and memories we have
A loss of beauty and grace
Is denying it from the world
Watching her fulfill her journey
All to its very end
We say our farewells
To our beloved Eleanor.
To the Dela Merced and the rest of the Fermin families stay strong
through this dreaded ordeal. Hold hands with one another and embrace
the memories you once shared with her.
To Clint, although I barely knew you, my deepest condolences for
your loss.

I remember when Ate
Eleanor came to Hesperia to teach Sunday school; I would always
smile because she was and always will be one of my favorite
childhood teachers and mentors. Her radiant smile and her eloquent
voice always brightened up my Sundays. I learned the most about the
bible when Ate Eleanor taught, and it seems like that was just
yesterday.
Unfortunately, I don't even remember the last time I saw Ate
Eleanor, but maybe one day, when this is all over, I will hear her
inspiring voice, and see her beautiful smile once more.
To the family of Ate Eleanor, I would like to offer my condolences.
Ate Eleanor taught me so much about the bible and life-- I know that
I will do great in college because of her guidance and grace. My

Sister Eleanor is the
"most active" Kadiwa we know. She sets the best example to all of us
wearing so many hats of responsbilities in serving our Almighty
Father in heaven. Wherever she goes, Sis. Eleanor touched the hearts
of the Kabataan, being a teacher and leading them to live
righteously; the Binhi, guiding them in all sorts of activities and
social affairs; the Kadiwa, leading in sports, social activities, &
choir; and the Buklod, teaching us parents to love and care for our
families. Beyond these, we each had a good part in her life that we
will never forget. We will dearly miss her.
Our condolences to our Beloved Bro. Clint, Bro. Bobby & Sis. Eleanor

When I think of
Eleanor, I remember the days of adolesence and I can't help but to
smile. We were both so young and innocent when my life was touched
by Eleanor long ago. I remember her as a good friend who was not
quick to judge and always saw the good in everyone. I remember
Eleanor as a passionate member of the Church Of Christ, devoted
sister, and daughter to her family. She loved her family and
treasured her duty with all her heart. I have nothing but good
memories of Eleanor and I thank God for all the moments I had with
her. I will truely miss her and she will always be in my heart. My
deepest & sincere condolences to the Fermin Family and to Clint. May
God uphold us all through this time of great sorrow...

Even though I did not
know Sister Eleanor well I will surely miss her. She was a good
example of an officer in the church. Whenever I felt like i did not
want to go to choir practice, because i was tired or did not feel
well, i always thought how she always fulfilled her duties. When she
tought the Children's Worship Service she always gave funny, good
examples. She can make anyone smile. Sister Eleanor you will be
greatly missed by all.

I remember the Fermins
when they first came to SGV from P.I. When we were much much younger
Eleanor and I hung out together and I remember how cool it was that
she was in a youth softball league--not many girls were athletic
like her. After leaving SGV, we'd see each other at many District
events and she was always very friendly. And like many ppl, it's her
smile I remember whenever she greeted me. Mel also remembers her as
being a warm, friendly person. When he first met her she was the one
to introduce herself to him at a KADIWA activity.
As tragic as her passing may be, it's a great comfort knowing she
triumphantly finished her race. Our deepest sympathies go out to her
family and to Clint. God bless you in your sadness. |

Whenever I think of
Eleanor, I see her smiling at me. Her smile lite up her face. Every
time I saw her, she was always smiling and so happy. She made others
around her happy as well.
My memories of Eleanor are always connected to the "3 Fermin Girls"
(Emylene, Eleanor, and Lisa) are always together in my mind. I
remember just having a great time with the 3 girls and their Lola in
the Philippines. The 3 girls would spend their summers in the
Philippines and we would always meet each other at Central. We would
then go out for lunch or dinner and even go bowling at their Lola's
bowling alley. It was always a joy to be around the "3 Fermin
Girls".
We will miss Eleanor terribly, but she will always be in our hearts
and memories!
To Tito Bob, Tita Ine, Emylene, and Lisa: May our Lord God give you
strength and comfort during this time of sorrow. May you find peace
in knowing that she finished her course and we will see her again on

In addition to her
friendly, charismatic personality, Eleanor had an exuberant sense of
humor. She had a natural knack for story telling that captivated
anyone within hearing distance. I remember one story she told when
she used to go to UCI; she had to inject a lab mouse with
Parkinson's causing it to run in circles then sit on its hind legs
while nibbling on a piece of shredding and then falling flat on its
back. The story is a lot funnier with Eleanor telling it with her
re-enactment skills.
Many have noted her smile, but what I will miss most about her is
her contagious laugh. Eleanor had one of those laughs that made me
laugh just because she was laughing--even before finding out what
happened, I just couldn't help laughing with her.
Eleanor, we miss you dearly.

Being born of
Christian parents, Sister Eleanor will forever be a true Christian
from womb to tomb and even beyond as Apostle Paul says in
I Thess. 4:13-14 NLT)
13And now, brothers and sisters, I want you to know what will happen
to the Christians who have died so you will not be full of sorrow
like people who have no hope. 14For since we believe that Jesus died
and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus comes,
God will bring back with Jesus all the Christians who have died.
1 Cor. 15:51 TEV
Listen to this secret truth: we shall not all die, but when the last
trumpet sounds, we shall all be changed in an instant, as quickly as
the blinking of an eye. For when the trumpet sounds, the dead will
be raised, never to die again, and we shall all be changed.
Our deepest condolences ... |

When I hear the name
Sis. Eleanor Fermin, there is one thing that stands out in my mind
and that was our District Leadership Enhancement training in Anaheim
on July 14, 2001. At the end of that day, all of the brethren got a
chance to volunteer to go up and read their “Personal Mission
Statement†in front of everyone.
Eleanor’s speech was the only one I remember, because when she read
her promise to our Almighty God and our Lord Jesus Christ in front
of all the brethren, it really touched me and everyone. I remember
thinking then, this sister is different, truly faithful and her
words made a great impact on me. I remember she started crying
during her speech and then all of the brethren felt the Holy Spirit
and we all started crying.
That is one speech I will never forget and I thought that this
sister was really special and a great example to us all and she
fulfilled her calling, she fulfilled her "mission" (as she declared
in her speech) and remained faithful to the end.
To our Sis. Eleanor’s family, may our Lord God be with you always
and may you have comfort in knowing that we will all be together
again in the heavenly kingdom. |

So many lives Eleanor has touched, near and far. I dont need to say

cheerful, faithful and obedient, need I say more???
Condolences to the Family, Clint, and friends. I wish I was more

time that I knew her, being an officer with her in the District

From the moment I
transferred to Montclair, Ate Eleanor welcomed me with open arms and
already treated me like a little sister. Ever since, I've looked up
to her (literally) as my "Ate." She has always been there through
thick and thin, through the ups and downs. She was always looking
out for me; she always had the right words to say every time I was
down. One of the pieces of advice she gave, which I will never
forget was, “Whenever you need someone to talk to, you come to the
Chapel and pray your heart out. And afterwards, if you still need
someone, walk over to my house because I will always be there for
you.†She made me laugh, and she made me cry… from laughing so much.
I love her with all my heart, and I have unbelievable respect for
her. She was raised by great parents and was a very loving, caring
member of her family. She was active in all of her duties, which was
an inspiration to us all. She was a strong leader, a loyal friend,
and overall… an awesome person to know.
It would be selfish of me to say that, "I wish she were still here"
but I can't help but miss her so much. I truly feel as if a part of
me has been taken away, but at the same time, the memories I have of
her have filled the empty places of my heart. I miss her hugs, I
miss her smile, and I will always miss the joy that she brings every
time she enters a room. I am thankful to God that she is finally at
rest and getting the peace that she deserves. With the short time
that I have known her, she’s already made more of an impact than
most people I’ve known for years. I know that nobody’s perfect, but
to me, she was. I know she already has a place in heaven, but for
now, she’ll always have a place in my heart.
On behalf of my family, we would like to express our deepest
condolences to the Fermin/Dela Merced family. We love you very much

Death comes to man's
life unexpectedly. But we know as members of the Church of Christ,
death is just a sleep. When the Lord Jesus comes, He will wake us up
and bring us to the Father to inherit the salvation and eternal life
in the Holy City.
We feel the pain of the loss of our loved one but there is joy in
our heart that she is resting or sleeping only and to be awakened
and to open her eyes in the Holy City. She finished her course. May
all of us do the same to remain in the Church of Christ until our

Eleanor's passing came
as a shock to me. I was just talking to her after the service two
weeks ago and she had asked me if I wanted to become a kadiwa
officer. She also showed me her engagement ring and I could tell
that she was happy. She has always been a leader who encouraged
others to become active in the church. My thoughts and prayers are
with her family. Although Eleanor is no longer with us, I know that
the legacy she left behind will continue to inspire her friends and
family to remain active in their duties to God. |

In my heart, I will
always remember Eleanor's welcoming bright smile and warm hugs. She
was full of laughter and had an incredible nack of spreading that
infectious laugh to everyone around her. It was only a couple of
months ago did I see her, and she was glowing! I'm pretty sure it
was that fact that she was about to prepare for her wedding with
Clint. I know she is in a happier place now - at peace. God blessed
Eleanor with a soul mate that respected her, took care of her, and
loved her immensely - that was Clint (and vice versa for Clint). My
condolences to Eleanor's entire family and to Clint. |

The friendliest and
most welcoming person I have ever met when I attended Montclair's
open forum. Such a loss in this world but God knows what is best.
She is a perfect example of how Kadiwas should be. Blessed with many
offices which she all performed actively, she finished her race
faithfully 'till the end. Let us all be like this wonderful sister
and stay strong in our faith, doing our best to live righteously for
the end is near. She is truly missed by everyone who has met her. My
condolences to her family....we'll see you in the end Sis. Eleanor |

I thank God for he had
given me a chance to feel her kindness and warmth as a person and as
a diligent officer in the Church of Christ. I remember when I use to
go to Montclair locale for choir practice and I would see Eleanor,
she never failed to greet me and say 'Hi Ate Mae, how are you?,How's
Josh?'(my eldest). After we sang for the adult worship service, she
would hurrily change to her white dress, to perform in the
children's worship service. She was diligent, smart and lovely at
the same time. I would surely miss Eleanor. My condolences to Clint
and the Fermin family. |

How I know Eleanor, I
became part of her family when she was only 8 years old. I helped
her parents, Robert “kuya Bob†and Eleanor Sr. â€ate Ine†cared and
looked after her along with her two sisters, Emylene and Elisa. All
I can say about Eleanor is that she is the epitome of only the
positive and bright side of life. She knows exactly how to cheer up
people who’s down and depressed. She’s a person that never give the
negative sides a chance to even pick in her vibrant attitude and
personality. I have so much memories of her that I would cherish
always. I am so sad because she leaves us so early but I am so happy
also because she leaves knowing that she was strong, steadfast and
remained in her duties to God until her last breath. Eleanor will
surely sorely be missed. |

I am fortunate enough
to have known Eleanor so well through college. I always considered
her one of my best friends through the best years of my life. We
spent so much time together, but it doesn't matter how much time we
spent because she was one of those rare people who if you've only
met her for five minutes you felt you'd known her your entire life.
She had a way of making everyone feel so special. I am so lucky to
have known her. I feel a piece of me is missing now. My deepest and
most sincere condolences to her family and Clint, I can't even
imagine... these simple words arent even close to enough...
The most we can ever ask for in this world is to change it for the
better. Eleanor did this every day, with every beautiful smile,
every person she met. I have only great memories of her, so many
that I'll be thankful for the rest of my life.
Eleanor, we love you. We miss you and it really hurts. The world is
a better place because you were here. You will be with me and all of
us every day. Thank you for being there. Rest now and be at peace.
To the family and Clint, thank you for your kindness you've always
shown me, it will never be forgotten. |

God blesses in a very special way; with an inner light that touches

her love for God, her family, and friends. Her life is a legacy of
love that continues to teach us everytime we remember her. Thank you

prayers and love are with the family she leaves behind. |

I will always remember
the long conversations I had with Eleanor about life. I always
considered her a great example and partner in crime. When I
graduated and was scared to face the real world, she walked me
through it. When I was worried about matters of the heart, she often
offered advice to help me become stronger. She understood when I got
a job and everything was hard to juggle. She would always be so
encouraging. It was awesome to have someone who went through similar
things I did. Training to become an organist is hard but having her
there made it easier because I had a partner and someone to share my
frustrations with. I will forever miss the way she would come into
choir practice, knocking over all our hymnbooks with her rolly bag.
Her vibrant smile and her love for life. I will miss seeing how
happy she was to be in love. Everyone is right when they say that
her smile could light up a room. I consider myself lucky to have
been so close, to be able to say that she was my "sis".
Tito Bob, Tita Ine, Em, Lis and Clintok- my deepest prayers are with
you always. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives. |

Where to
start...remembering moments brings tears to my eyes...I met Sis.
Eleanor along with Sis. Elisa when they were vacationing in Hawaii
year 2000...it was so cool meeting someone like her..and I remember
the card that Eleanor and Elisa gave me thanking me for showing them
a great time in Hawaii with the other kadiwas..and I was so happy
that they showed the same hospitality or should I say Aloha to me
when I visited Southern California couple months after they visited
Hawaii..I specifically remember playing chubby bunny(marshmallow
eating contest) at their home..those were great times..Sis Eleanor

I remember Ate Eleanor
as a happy person. She always greet people with her smiling face and
was respectful to the elders. She was always performing her duties,
as a choir member, CWS teacher, organist and Kadiwa President. She
had so many responsibilities but she was always able to balance
everything. Ate Eleanor was someone who I looked up to and I wish I
will be like her someday and achieve like her. My Condolences goes
out to Tito Bob, Tita Ine, Emylene, Elisa and Clint.
A Place To Rest
God looked down on your body,
So tired from hanging on,
From a life that was overwhelming you,
And wanted back you.
So he took away the air you breathe,
And gave you what was best,
A place to be at peace,
A final place to rest.
You Meant So Much
You meant so much to me
You were special and that's no lie
You brightened up the darkest day
And the cloudiest sky
Your smile alone warmed my heart
Your laugh was like music to hear
I would give absolutely anything
To have you well and standing near
She will be surely missed.
We being all members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, we know that one day
we will see each other again. |

i didnt know ate
eleanor that well, but i shared a lot of memories with her. i
remember when i wasnt into the church and felt like an outcast...she

when we went snowboarding , i got frustrated and mad because i kept
falling, but she motivated me to keep trying. during bible studies,
she would tell jokes when the minister turned his back. i felt in
place at church because of her. i felt that someone actually cared
and noticed me at church. shes the one who made me active. without
her, i'd be dead in god's eyes. i cant thank her enough...shes been

"If you want it, it's

That was the last bit of advice that Eleanor gave me before she
passed. I think I speak for everyone when I say that she was someone
that lit up our days, giving us inspiration when we needed it. The
last time we actually talked was at bakers square with clint and
daniel and daniel was planning his classes for poly. It was that day
when she told me to keep going, when everything was down. I'll never
forget that day. She kept the Kadiwa together, making us perform

success in the Kadiwa. She will be truly missed by all of us.

I highly respected and
admired Eleanor as a fellow CWS Teacher and Kadiwa Officer. She was
truly a great youth leader inside the Church of Christ. The type of
leader anyone would follow into battle. Strong and faithful until
the end. She was always that friendly face that would greet you at
activities and made you feel welcomed and you just knew that it was
genuine. I always looked forward to playing against that girl at
basketball tournaments and had the honor of playing alongside her
once at an all-star game. It doesn’t amaze me that the loss of our
sister has many locales far and wide saddened. She was just one of
those people God blessed with the ability to make a difference in
this world and with his people. Eleanor’s light will continue to
shine in the people she’s inspired, comforted, and loved… She will
be missed. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends. |

She's the greatest
friend one can ever have. She always had a smile on her face. She
lightens up everyones day. When I heard of the news of her passing,
I just couldn't take it. My mom called me crying over the phone, and
I just knew that it was about you. It was like a stab that hurt so
much. We'll surely miss you. Last time I saw you, you had this big
smile on your face. Thank you for being an Ate, and a friend. I even
wrote a poem just for you. Hope to see you soon.
You are the best.
Always have a smile.
You are the greatest.
No one can ever come close.
Why is it that great souls leaves us.
Why is it that great lives vanishes.
Why is it she who deserves to live leave.
Why, no one will ever know.
Eleanor, you are the best.
Always have a smile on your face.
Eleanor, you are unique and true,
You are one in a million, nobody else like you.
I thank you for all the kind words you've given me.
I thank you for having an open hand when anyone is in need.
I thank you for caring when nobody else did.
I thank you for just being you.
A great person has left us with just memories.
Memories of her life, to the fullest.
A great friend have gone.
To that special place God has promised.
Last time I saw you, a smile brightens like an angel.
Full of life, love and devotion.

Given the time that I
got to spend with Ate Eleanor...the most memorable ones were always
the funniest! She never failed to make me laugh or help me feel at
ease when I freak out!! She was never judgmental and always gave
people a chance to shine! My first encounter with her was the fist
night I came to Montclair....she asked if I was an organist and she
started jumping for joy..So I started practicing again!
She gave me confidence and guidance...she always reminded me of how
blessed I was and that I should'nt take it for granted...I cherish
that so much!
Thank you for being there for me Ate Eleanor...Thank you for giving
me confidence...for allowing me to help you...even if it was small.
I miss you so much! I will always love you! |

When I heard the news
of Eleanor’s passing, my heart just dropped. I’ve never felt so much
shock of losing a friend that will never be forgotten.
Growing up, I remember spending most of our time with the Fermin
sisters, Emirick, and Edel. Iris and Eleanor were so close back
then. We used to go mall hoping with Grace and get kicked out for
playing on the escalators. Those were the days. We all grew up and
went different routes.
The thought of knowing she’s gone is hard for me to grasp,
especially because she was too young to leave. But I understand that
once we’ve finished our race, our time will come to rest and that
time has come for our dear Eleanor.
My heart goes out to you Tito Bobby, Tita Ine, Emylene, and Elisa.
My deepest sympathy and condolences to your family. |

Eleanor … that smiley
face, that cute lil’voice, her funny little ways.
How difficult it is to realize she’s not here anymore. We’ve felt so
empty these past few days. I’ve been very close friends with Eleanor
ever since she was 12. I felt her loving care for me, even from the
start. She would often write me a letter when she would take
vacations back home in P.I.. I remember when I used to pick them up
from middle-school and she made fun of my clothing, i.e. my looks (whatta
meany). We would talk all night while waiting for her mom & dad to
finish fulfilling their duties after Wed nite w.s.@SGV. I
appreciated her sharing her matters of the heart, and her thoughts
about life and friends. I would often comment about her
“dimple-handsâ€, even to this day. I would often give her advice all
these years, but sometimes she can be so hard-headed. That‘s just
Eleanor … a strong mind, a strong-head, but most times .. simply
adorable. My memory of her is the fruit from fun times spent
together in the Junior Choir, as Binhi officers, the Senior choir,
the Kadiwa, as CWS teachers, and as part of our “barkadaâ€, and
because of these that it is so hard to accept that we won’t hear her
voice, see her smile, see her sing in the choir-loft, see her
walking in the hallways, hear her little giggles … anymore. She was
part of what I’ve met. She was my little sister. I just can’t get
used to losing her.
To the girl I call “Babyâ€, I’ll miss you and I love you.
To Ninong Bobby, Ninang Ine, Emylene & Lisa … we’re here for you,
you’re in our thoughts, and we love you. |

My heart goes out to
you, Ka Bobby and Ka Ine and your other daughters.I always admired
the very good example of Christianity in your family. I could only
wish that all the people in the world could be like you... then
there would be peace, brotherhood, genuine love and decency among
everyone. When Bro Danny Munar told me about Eleanor's passing on, I
felt the pain deep in my heart because I am a father, too. I always
pray to God that if HE would grant me one wish, just one wish, let
it be that I would be able to turn back the hands of time, even for
just one half second, so that if my child gets hurt, I'd be able to
turn back the time and prevent it from happening. And I am willing
to give up my life for that wish to be granted.I will not have the
chance to talk to you face to face and discuss the joys of
parenthood, the agony of suffering when our children are sick, and
the tremendous pain of a loss.Ka Bobby and Ka Ine, may GOD give you
the strength that you need. She may have been taken away from you
prematurely, but we know that GOD has his own reason for her early
departure. Eleanor was lucky for having parents like you, and you
were equally blessed for having Eleanor for a daughter.
in Christ,

Eleanor's office was
just down the hall from mine here at City of Hope. It was always a
joy to stop by and speak with her. She had such enthusiasm for life
and brought happiness into other's lives. She is the age of my
daughters and so it was so much fun to talk with her about what they
were experiencing, like future life goals and wedding plans. It is a
great comfort to me that Eleanor lived a life of faith in God. |

My niece, Eleanor,
loved food. When my daughter, Jenny, and I were living with her
family back in the 1980's, she would always follow the smell of food
all the way to the kitchen and check out what I was cooking. She ate
with gusto, whether it was a special dish or just ramen. She was
always vibrant, jolly, full of humor, witty, and exuded
excitement...she loved life. She will forever be remembered and
profoundly missed. Kuya Bob, Ate Ine, Emylene, and Lisa, my deepest
sympathy and, at the same time, my applause for having a daughter

and may we comfort them in turn. May God guide us through this all,
and may we all finish our race as well as she.

I dont even know where
to begin... What an amazing, amazing girl. I was fortunate enough to
meet Eleanor in October 2004. We were instant friends. She always
had time to help me with work, to share a laugh and play a practical
joke, to exchange stories about our wonderful boyfriends, to run to
the mall at lunch for shoes and a crepe or a Robeks smoothie, work
on our pilates, and talk about her family, and friends. These
memories comfort me during this time when my heart is heavy. My life

Ate Eleanor was such a
wonderful and beautiful person. I can't help but smile when I
remember her. She was always full of positive energy, always
smiling. She was accomplished in everything she did; in school, in
work, and most especially in church. She had so many
responsibilities but she was always able to balance everything; from
work and school to all her duties in the church: choir leader,
organist, cws teacher, kadiwa president, kadiwa district officer,
she did it all. I remember all the times that I would doubt myself,
especially as an organist and she would always be there to give me
advice, encouraging me to do my best. She was one of the people that
I looked up to the most and she will always be an inspiration to me.
Everyone who knew her can say that they have taken something
positive from knowing her and having her presence among us. I pray
for all her family and friends and everyone who knew her. We just
have to remember that she was blessed her whole life and she will
soon receive the ultimate blessing of eternal life on judgement day.
She will truly be missed. I love you Ate Eleanor. |

I've been fortunate to
have worked with Eleanor through out these years in the church. We
were together when we did the leadership training and when we were
officers in the district Binhi and KADIWA organizations. I will
always remember her to be really funny with such quick wit. She was
also a great mastermind of tricks and was one of the best mafia
facilitator--a game we often played after our meeting and district
KADIWA visitations.
The last time I spoke to her was during the district CWS teacher's
class in July, and I remember we kept laghing and making jokes--just
because. When we said good-bye, I didn't think that would be the
last time, but looking back, I'm so glad that I got to see her
before she passed away. We miss her now and will always miss her. I
thank God for having met her. She was and will always be a GREAT
INSPIRATION.
To Ka Bobby, Ka Ine, Emylene, Lisa and Clint and the rest of the
Fermin family, we share in your time of sadness. She loved you all
so very much, her family was her inspiration. We know that there are
no words we can say that can fill that void in your hearts, but know
that you are all in our prayers and everything will be okay. God
Bless po. |

Gosh, where do I
start? One thing I remember about Ate Eleanor, is that everytime I
needed to go over the alto in any hymn she would always be the one
to stay behind after choir practice and she would go over the alto
line with me. I remember those practices when we were still in the
jr. choir, and Ate Eleanor would always ALWAYS remind us that we
should sing our hymns as if we ourselves wrote them. I always laugh
everytime she teaches in the CWS worship service because she always
has funny jokes or funny examples to say. I remember when Ate
Emylene and I were going to school for dialysis in Glendale, we
would always pass by Ate Eleanor when we were stuck in traffic. We
would call her cell phone and we'd say, "I see you!" and then she'd
find us and we'd keep waving at each other, hehe. Oh! One thing I
will NEVER EVER forget...is how Ate Eleanor and I would always tease
each other on who has the biggest butt! We would be passing by each
other in the chapel and I would spank her butt and she would always
say, "HOW DARE YOU! DON'T YOU EVER!" and she would try to get back
at me by spanking my butt too! Ate Eleanor is one beautiful person
all around, and I shall NEVER EVER forget her. |

I want to give my
deepest condolences to the Fermin family and to brother Clint. My
family and I share your pain in this time of grieving. We also loved
her. Speaking for myself though I was totally devasted by the news
of what happened. I still can't believe it. Even though Eleanor and
I haven't talked in a while or even hung out I still feel the pain
of her passing. Knowing her and having her as my sister and friend
in the church was one of the greatest blessings God has ever given
me. She had a huge influence on my life and the way I picture things
now as an adult. She was the one of the most important voices I
listened to growing up. She kept me on the straight and narrow. She
is one the people in church that helped keep my faith strong and so
I'm still a member to this day. I still can't believe she's gone. It
hurts so deeply. I know God has his reasons for calling her to him
so early. It still hurts though. I extend my hand to the her family
meaning if there is ANYTHING they need from me. . . .I'll do
whatever it takes to oblige. It's the least I can do to repay
Eleanor for her love and kindness. I just wish I could've kept the
lines of communication open between us.

Eleanor was my family.
I woke up to her face every morning and she was one of the last
people I saw every night. We worked together for 5 years....sharing
an office. I got to be blessed with her presence every single day. I
was honored to be touched by her short life. I'm trying to find
peace in all of this and I'm struggling. I laugh at the memories we
created together, and I cry that I'll never make more. God I miss
her. My heart goes out to her mom and dad.......she spoke of you
daily with such respect and love. My heart goes out to Elisa and
Emylene....her sisters were her life. I'll never forget laughing
when her Ate would call her a million times at work making Eleanor
laugh as they teased and tormented each other. And then there was
her baby sister. I remember when I met her, Eleanor was just so
excited to be showing her off. I remember laughing when Eleanor
would call her at work acting like a customer. I remember being
jealous that she had such a tight knit family. She was also SO in
love. Clint, I don't even have the words...there was no eleanor
without Clint and no Clint without Eleanor. You were just as much a
part of our office as Eleanor. You always knew to call right when
Dina came in the office. And you came to most of our lunches with
us. Eleanor talked about you nearly every second of every day here.
And you made her dreams come true the night you got engaged. Thank
you for making my friend so happy. My heart will be forever broken.
Eleanor.....I love you.

To the Fermin family:
Our hearts are with you during this very trying time in your life.
Our inspiration:
I Cor. 15:51-54
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we
shall all be changed;
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For
the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal
must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal
has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying
that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." |

The last time I saw
Eleanor was in December, 2004 at the Fremont Chapel. She attended
Worship Services there also. When she saw us after the service, she
just did not leave us, she was with us as we were shown around, took
pictures, and visited with friends.
I can not forget her candid and loving ways. Everytime she saw me
she would give me a hug as she said "Hi Tita, how are you". Then
last Saturday, Aug. 13th
when I heard what had happened to her in Tennessee, I could not help
but shed some tears. Yes, we will miss Eleanor (Baby) as she was
fondly called. And to her family, please accept my sincerest regards
and condolences. |

I can remember when I
first met Eleanor. It was in 1978 when my family went back for our
first trip to the PI. My family was invited to go out to dinner w/
Tito Bob and Tita Ine. We met them at their house. Both Eleanor and
Emylene were still awake. While we were taking pictures, Eleanor was
allowing each one of us to hold her. Barely knowing us, she
nonetheless hugged and kissed each of us as if she had really known
us. I have never forgotten Eleanor's trusting and open heart that
she showed us that evening. I will truly miss Eleanor's outgoing
personality. She was always so bubbly and energetic.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Eleanor's family. Please
always remember that Eleanor died a fortunate death for she was
still an active member and officer inside the Iglesia Ni Cristo.
Eleanor will be one of those who will be raised by our Lord Jesus
when He will return on His second coming. |

I remember Eleanor to
be the life of the party. She always puts a smile on people's faces.
She loved to cuddle with her family and close friends. Eleanor was
always smiling.
I really didn't know her but I admired her devotion and her passion
for her duty and for her family.
To Ka Bobby and Ka Ene, Emylene and Elisa, God bless you and may he
give you all the strength that you need.
